Support

Questions, bug reports and feature requests all go tosupport@naswildcard.com. A person reads every message. You can write in English or German.

For a bug report it helps to say which NAS you have (model and DSM version, or which WebDAV server), which version of iOS, and what kind of file you were opening.

Common questions

The app does not find my NAS

Discovery only works on the same local network as the NAS. Check that your device is on Wi-Fi, and that NAS Wildcard is allowed under Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. If the NAS still does not show up, add it by hand with its address.

Which NAS units work?

Synology DiskStation with your DSM account, and any server that offers WebDAV, such as TrueNAS, UGREEN, OpenMediaVault, Nextcloud or rclone. On some of these WebDAV has to be switched on first.

Do I need to install anything on the NAS?

No. The app uses the sign-in your NAS already has.

Where is my password kept?

In the Keychain on your device. It is sent to your NAS when you sign in and to nobody else. See the privacy policy.

The app warns me about an unencrypted connection

Your NAS address starts with http://, so your password would travel over the network unencrypted. That is a small risk at home and a real one elsewhere. Use thehttps:// address of your NAS if it has one.
