The short version: NAS Wildcard collects no data about you. The app talks to your NAS and to nothing else, and this website sets no cookies and does no tracking.

The app

What we collect

Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party crash reporting and no user accounts. It never sends anything to us or to servers we run.

What stays on your device

• The addresses and user names of the NAS units you add.
• Your passwords, which are stored in the iOS Keychain.
• Your settings, favourites and the positions you reached in videos, comics and books.
• Files you chose to keep for offline use.

All of this is removed when you delete the app. Keychain entries may be kept by iOS; removing the NAS inside the app before deleting it removes them too.

Connections the app makes

The app connects to the NAS units you add, and sends your user name and password to that NAS to sign in. It searches your local network for NAS units, which is why iOS asks for permission to access the local network. It makes no other connections.

What Apple does

Downloads and purchases are handled by Apple's App Store; we receive no payment details and cannot see who bought what. If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple gives us crash reports and usage figures that do not identify you. Apple's privacy policy applies to both.

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no content loaded from third parties.

It is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver a page, Cloudflare necessarily processes the data your browser sends with each request: your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type. We have a legitimate interest in offering a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

When you write to us

If you email us, we use your email address and what you tell us to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete the correspondence once the matter is settled, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to object to its processing and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, write tosupport@naswildcard.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes

If the app or this website changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
